Honda, by launching the Dio 110 Motoscooter at the 2012 Auto Expo, has infused a new breath of life into an aging yet still sharp looking scooter. The makeover for the 2012 Dio 110 comprises of two parts, visual and mechanical. Mechanically, the Dio 110 gets a 110cc engine borrowed from the Activa/Aviator. This engine is now just powerful at 9 Bhp but also more fuel efficient than the older 102cc engine. The other mechanical changes on the Dio include the combined braking system that Honda first introduced in the new Activa 110.

The combined braking system mechanically distributes braking between the front and the rear wheels for optimum braking under all conditions. The other change on the Dio is the addition of tubeless tyres. Visually, the Dio 100 gets matt finish paint jobs and an all new front end, with a very sharp looking headlamp and turn indicators. The front bumper sees a redesign and so does the entire front end with much more sculpting all around. The Dio also gets a new grabrail and new tail lamp and turn indicators. All in all, a much welcome refresh for an aging warrior.

The 2012 Dream Yuga 110 is a Honda Shine mated to a CB Twister’s engine. Designed and positioned to appeal to folks who find the CB Twister 110 too flashy and expensive for their tastes, the Honda Dream Yuga 110 will be Honda’s new entry level motorcycle. Powered by the Twister’s engine, the Honda Shine’s safe styling on the Dream Yuga means that this motorcycle will be a strong competitor to the just launched Hero MotoCorp Passion X-Pro, which incidentally uses the same 110cc four stroke engine. With the Dream Yuga 110, Honda has jumped into the budget end of the 110cc motorcycle spectrum.
