New Honda City Review

The Honda City was initially introduced in the market in 1996 and gained popularity in the Asian markets. The New Honda City review reflects that the car was recently launched with a powerful engine to meet the needs of consumers.

The new Honda City has a 1497 cc, 4-cylinder petrol engine that has SOHC and PGM-Fi features. The engine can generate maximum power of 116 bhp at 6600 rpm along with maximum torque of 146 Nm at 6600 rpm. The front portion of the car draws its inspiration from European Honda models while the rear portion looks similar to BMW 3-series.
The length of the car is 4420 mm while its width is 1695 mm and its height is 1480 mm. The car can seat 5 individuals comfortably. The suspension system of the car includes McPherson Strut for the front while the rear has Torsion Beam Axle. The suspension system of the car provides for comfortable and supple riding experience.
The automatic variation of the car comes with a Paddle shift for gear and this ensures the driver can change gears without making use of clutch pedal. The car performs well at all speed ranges. The boot space of the car is 506 litres and it has tilt steering. The car has front disk along with rear drum brake system along with 5 manual gears. The ground clearance of the car is 160 mm while its kerb weight is 1100 kgs and its fuel tank capacity is 42 litres.
Honda City Mileage
The car provides excellent mileage of 18.22 km/litre on the highway while within the city it provides mileage of 10.82 km/litre. The overall average of the car is 12.66 km/litre.
New Honda City Interiors
The interiors of the car have beige shade and come with an AC knob that has silver finish. The interiors are quite simple and clean and have integrated audio and newly designed steering wheel. The instruments are all quite beautifully laid out and the controls are of excellent quality though the plastics may seem a bit hard. The steering wheel can be adjusted as per the height. The car does not have climate control feature and this is a major let down.
The new Honda City has advanced integrated audio system which allows integrations of Ipod, USB memory, cell phone as well as MP3 player and promises exceptional sound quality. The controls for the audio system are mounted on the steering wheel and also have separate remote control. The interiors of the car also have advanced meter design and the cabin feels quite spacious. The car has several storage spaces and the air conditioning system within the car along with heater is quite powerful.
New Honda City safety features
There are several active as well as passive safety features in the car and these include antilock braking system that has brake assist, seat belts with pre-tensioner, G-Force control feature and dual SRS airbags. The structure of the car also offers pedestrians safety features. On detection of possible impact in excess of certain threshold deployment of the airbags occurs. These airbags are then gently deflated so as to ensure that no head or chest injuries occur. Impact energy is also controlled in collisions so as to limit the extent of injuries.
Honda City price and design variations
The price of the car is around Rs 8.37 lakhs to Rs 9.54 lakhs depending on the design variation. The car is available in three design variations and these include Honda City 1.5 S M/T, 1.5 V M/T, 1.5 V, A/T, 1.5 Elegance V, 1.5 Elegance S and Honda City Inspire S and Inspire V.

The colours available include Alabaster Silver Metallic, Bold Beige Metallic, Crystal black pearl, Tefetta white, Polished metal metallic and habenero red pearl.
