Mahindra Thar is a sports utility vehicle ( SUV ) manufactured by Mahindra Company. It is a perfect gypsy with retro traditional look and which comes in C segment. This car is a reworked version of the Commander Jeep that was pulled off the roads in early 2000.

The Mahindra Thar Specifications says that the car comes with a powerful NEF CRDe Turbocharged Intercooled, euro IV engine which generates the maximum power of 105 hp at 3800 rpm along with the maximum torque of 247 Nm at 1800-2000 rpm. This engine has a displacement of 2498cc. It has a 5 speed manual transmission gearbox. The length of the car is 3920mm while the width of the car is 1710mm and the height is of 1930mm. The top speed of the car is 150 km / hour. The wheelbase of the car measures 2430 mm. It is India’s first BS IV CRDe diesel engine in soft top.
The capacity of its fuel tank is 60 litres. The ground clearance is of 200 mm and kerb weight is of 1750 kgs. 7 passengers can comfortably sit in it ( 4 people at the back and 3 in front ). Mahindra Thar has tubeless tyres with high traction 6j x 16 wheels and 5.25 metres of turning circle. The car is equipped with torsion bar and stabilizer bar suspension along with power steering and 2 trip meters.. Front disk and rear drum brakes are also available along with body color bumpers and tachometer. Its bold look enables it even to run on hilly areas and is also a best option for off roads. The car has ladder frame chassis and body-on-frame construction for rigidity, strength and shock-bearing capability.
